Loki · Chapter 6 of 6

Lokasenna

Insult · Truth · The last feast

He told the truth about everyone. That was the crime.

The Eddic poem Lokasenna — 'Loki's quarrel' — puts him at a feast he was not welcome at and lets him work the room. He accuses each of the Æsir in turn, of cowardice, of infidelity, of things the audience evidently already knew and enjoyed hearing said out loud, and nobody manages an answer that lands. It is a flyting, a formal insult contest with rules, and the joke sustaining it is that the trickster is genuinely winning. It ends when Thor arrives and mentions the hammer, at which point Loki leaves — noting that Thor is the one who would actually use it.

Unlocks in-game at Ascension tier 5.
