Zahhak · Chapter 5 of 6

His Time Hath Not Yet Come

A dream read aloud · A raised mace · A voice with no reason

The blow was already falling when something told it to stop.

The Shahnameh has him dream of three warriors, the youngest striking him with an ox-headed mace and dragging him toward a mountain, and when the archmages are finally forced to speak, one names the man: Fereydun, not yet born. Years later Fereydun holds the palace and Zahhak comes back over the roof on a lasso with a dagger, and the mace goes in. Then, in the Shahnameh, a voice from the air says strike not, his time hath not yet come — and gives no reason at all. He is bound instead, carried off toward one mountain, redirected to Damavand, and fastened by the hands in a narrow gorge. The chapter of the poem ends with him hanging there.

Unlocks in-game at Ascension tier 2.
