Angrboða's Children

Children · Fear · Pre-emption

They took all three, for what the three might one day become.

With the giantess Angrboða, Norse myth gives Loki three children, and the Æsir take every one. The serpent goes into the sea. Hel is handed the realm of the unremarkable dead. The wolf, Fenrir, they keep close — and then bind. Loki is not punished for fathering them; the children are simply removed, one by one, on the strength of a prophecy about what they would become. Every one of those prophecies comes true in the sources, and arguably because of what was done to prevent them.

Unlocks in-game at Ascension tier 1.
