Susano-o · Chapter 5 of 6

The Sword in the Tail

Kusanagi · A long journey · An object unseen

He kept nothing from the serpent except the story.

Japanese tradition follows the sword out of the serpent's tail a very long way. Susanoo sends it up to Amaterasu as a gift, a peace offering from an exiled brother. Generations later it is given to the hero Yamato Takeru, who uses it to cut grass and escape a burning field, and from that it takes the name Kusanagi, the grass-cutter. It is counted among the three imperial regalia and is said to be kept at Atsuta Shrine, where it is not shown to anyone.

Unlocks in-game at Ascension tier 4.
