Kaveh · Chapter 2 of 5

The Paper He Would Not Sign

A signed testimonial · A man who reads it · A floor with paper on it

Everyone in the room had signed. He was the one who read it first.

Zahhak has assembled the notables of the realm and had them put their names to a document testifying that he sows only seeds of good and wrongs no one, and the Shahnameh says they signed against their will. Then the scroll is handed to the blacksmith, who has just been given his son back. He reads the whole of it. Then he turns on the assembled elders — confederates of the Div, with impious hearts — tears the thing apart, treads it into the floor, and walks out into the street with his son in front of him. Afterwards Zahhak tells his court that when the man shouted, a mountain of iron seemed to rise between them.

Unlocks in-game at Mastery 3.
