Egyptian cards in Ages of Myth

Anubis, Bastet, Sokar and the Bennu — the Duat, the weighing of the heart, and three thousand years of continuity.

About the Egyptian set

Egyptian religion ran for longer than most traditions in this game have existed, and its figures changed shape across that span — which is why a single deity can be a jackal in one century and a man with a jackal's head in the next. The set follows the funerary core, because that is what the sources preserve best: Anubis who conducts and weighs, Osiris who is killed and does not stay dead, Set who kills him, Isis who reassembles him, Sokar of the necropolis, and the Bennu, the self-renewing bird the Greeks later read as the phoenix. Ma'at — order, truth, the feather the heart is weighed against — is less a character than the rule the whole system runs on.
