Persian & Arabian cards in Ages of Myth

The Shahnameh and the 1001 Nights — Zoroastrian divinities, the heroes of Iran's national epic, and the jinn of Arabian tradition.

About the Persian & Arabian set

This is the set the game's whole visual language grew out of: turquoise, gold and sandstone. It draws on two connected bodies of story. From the Iranian side come the Zoroastrian yazatas such as Anahita, guardian of the waters, and Mithra of the oath; the heroes and villains of Firdawsi's Shahnameh — Rostam, Zahhak, Kaveh, Esfandiyar, the horse Rakhsh; and the Simurgh, the wise bird who raises an abandoned child on the peak of Mount Damavand. From the Arabian side come the jinn of the 1001 Nights and the Qur'anic tradition — the Marid, the Ifrit, and Suleiman who was given command of them. Arabian and Persian figures share one collectible set in the game because their stories shared cities, libraries and centuries.
